Academics

Serving young adults, ages 17-22, who receive special education services.

Our scholars have a range of abilities and challenges. Scholars are referred by their high school in order to complete an IEP driven diploma. Transition services are an extension of the 12th grade year, and therefore align within K-12 district communications.

OEC provides opportunities for scholars to expand their academic, employment and independent living skills through ownership, empowerment and community building. Developing self-esteem, learning about acceptance, advocacy and giving back to the community are key components of our schoolwide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).

Services at OEC focus on four special education transition areas:

  • Post-Secondary Education and Training
  • Employment
  • Independent Living
  • Community
